BRIEF BIO

Emmanouel T. Michailidis (Senior Member IEEE) was born in Athens, Greece. He received his M.Sc. degree in Digital Communications and Networks in 2006 and the Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Communication Systems in 2011 from the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus, Piraeus, Greece.

Between 2021 to 2024, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) at the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean, Samos Island, Greece. From 2012 to 2021, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the field of Satellite and Aerial Communications at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus.

Since 2018 he has held the position of Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering, University of West Attica, Egaleo, Greece. During the period from 2023 to 2024, he served as an Appointed Lecturer at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus.

Dr. Michailidis has actively participated in 14 research projects, showcasing his dedication to advancing knowledge in his field. His scholarly contributions include the publication of over 55 scientific papers, and he has been honored with 3 Best Paper Awards. Recognizing his achievements, the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs awarded him for his substantial contribution to Academic and Scientific Excellence. Currently, Dr. Michailidis serves as an Editorial Board Member of Drones, a Topical Advisory Panel Member of Sensors, and a Review Editor of Frontiers in Communications and Networks. He has further demonstrated his commitment to the academic community by acting as a Guest Editor for various Journal Special Issues and contributing to the Organizing Committee of several International Conferences.
