Emerging Technologies- Big Data & Archives

Webinar Series

The project is funded by a Council on Library & Information Resources (CLIR) Microgrant with generous support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and Co-hosted by Oklahoma State University Emerging Technologies & Creativity Research Lab.

Emerging technologies are influencing all aspects of life, including research. In the era of big data, artificial intelligence, and complex computational practices, it is becoming expedient to consider the effect of technological advances on data curation and archives. For instance, these technological advances call for different practices, and approaches to curation for archivists in the 21st century. Therefore, it is increasingly critical to consider these changes and potential implications for librarians, researchers, and archivists at different institutions.

This webinar series will address these technological advances by focusing on three themes relevant for archivists, librarians, and researchers engaging with archival data or other kind of data.
