WWG41 transmits on a frequency of 162.425 MHz from a tower atop Mount Ord, adjacent to the Gila-Maricopa County line. The station's main market includes Payson, Star Valley, and surrounding areas in northern Gila County. Limited coverage is provided for portions of Southern Gila, Maricopa, Yavapai, and Coconino counties. It is operated by the Flagstaff National Weather Service office located in Bellemont, AZ.
Our WWG41 live feed is powered by a Midland WR400 and an Orange Pi 4 LTS running Debian Linux version 11. BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool) is used to encode and send the audio to the Icecast server used by noaaweatherradio.org. This equipment is located approximately 45 miles from the WWG41 transmitter site.
