ABSTRACT
Tuberculosis is an infectious diseased caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and can be easily transmitted through respiratory route (Bloom et al, 2017). Tuberculosis is considered endemic in the Philippines (Calderon et al, 2022). Tuberculosis cases are either pulmonary, extrapulmonary or can also be both. Among extrapulmonary tuberculosis cases, tuberculous brain abscess is considered as a rare case and associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality (Fatoumata et al, 2020). A 23 male patient and a known case of pulmonary tuberculosis was presented in our emergency department with generalized body weakness and decrease sensorium associated with 1 week history of cough and undocumented febrile episodes. Physical examination showed coarse crackles on both lung fields. Diagnostic imaging was done and Chest Xray showed cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis and Plain Cranial Ct scan showed suggestive of cerebral abscess formation on which tuberculous formation cannot be ruled out. Thus, this case was considered as a rare case of tuberculous brain abscess.
