Call for Papers

We welcome submissions of research as well as review, and positional papers that may foster discussions across fields on learning to communicate and communication methods applied to other problems such as

  • Learning to interact with humans through language

  • Analyzing multitask learning and semantic drift

  • Modelling human language learning with neural networks

  • Optimizing networking protocols and IoT as communication

  • Investigating language priors of neural architectures

  • Enhancing multi-agent cooperation through communication

  • Using neural networks to do linguistic modelling

  • Epistemic modelling of language evolution

  • Population dynamics as a regularizer for optimization

  • and more!

Submission Rules

All ML submissions must be currently unpublished at the time of submission (e.g. submitted and under review at a journal/conference is allowed). We do encourage published work outside of ML, e.g. epistemology, cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, that are within the scope of the workshop. Note that those papers are not eligible for a best paper award.

Submission Deadline Extended: 4 March 2022 at 23:59 Anywhere on Earth

Submission Website: https://openreview.net/group?id=ICLR.cc/2022/Workshop/EmeCom

Submission Format:

    • 4 page submissions following the style guidelines for ICLR 2022 (found here or overleaf template here) OR
