As a computer engineering student at Mapúa University, my journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Since we haven't tackled any professional courses yet, most of our subjects are focused on mathematics, which plays a vital role in building our foundation in engineering. Adjusting to the academic load was tough at first, especially with the fast-paced learning environment and the demand for solving complex mathematical problems. However, I soon realized that perseverance and proper time management were key to overcoming these challenges. I learned to balance my time between studying, completing assignments, and preparing for exams, ensuring I stayed on track with my academic goals.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing my time efficiently. With multiple subjects, assignments, and deadlines piling up, it was difficult to keep everything organized. There were days when I felt overwhelmed and unmotivated, but I knew I had to push through. By creating a study schedule, setting priorities, and minimizing distractions, I gradually improved my time management skills. This not only helped me stay on top of my schoolwork but also allowed me to have time for myself and other activities.
Through this program, I’ve seen a significant improvement in both my technical and personal growth. Studying mathematics has enhanced my problem-solving and critical thinking skills, which are essential in computer engineering. On a personal level, I’ve become more disciplined, resilient, and adaptable, especially when facing academic challenges. Although the journey is still ongoing, I am confident that the skills and experiences I am gaining now will prepare me for more advanced courses and future career opportunities in computer engineering.
