Getting to Schloss Ringberg:
Traveling by air
Fly to Munich “Franz Josef Strauss” airport (MUC). From the airport travel to München Hbf (Munich Central Station) via:
S8 in the direction of Herrsching
S1 in the direction of Leuchtenbergring, or the
Lufthansa Shuttle Bus to München Hbf.
From the main train station take a regional train as follows:
Traveling by rail
Travel to Munich Hbf (Munich Central Station) station by Deutsche Bahn – continue from the main train station to Lake Tegernsee by using the regional train (BOB): distance 59 km (final station), approx. 1 hr journey – for details, see timetable (Bayerische Oberlandbahn BOB). Please make sure you sit in the correct part of the train as only one half of the train travels on to Lake Tegernsee.

Traveling by car
Munich-Salzburg motorway A8 (E45) on Highway 97 Brunnthal exit Holzkirchen. Continue on the B318 to Gmund am Tegernsee. Turn towards Bad Wiessee Gmund and proceed until the traffic light after the Weißach sign. Here turn right onto Highway B307 towards Achensee. After about 1 km, take the federal highway B307 shortly after the end of the village Reitrain and keep right again to continue straight ahead for about 100 meters. Then, turn right to the particularly marked driveway at the forest’s outskirts (1.8 km gravel road with 9% ascending slope) towards Castle Ringberg.
