JD "WHIPLASH" DUNN
GUITAR/VOCALS
Music is in my blood. My grandfather always said everyone needs music in their lives. And I truly believe that to my core.
I've been playing guitar since I was about 12 years old. Self taught. Grew up in church playing and singing, playing local bar bands, playing covers but I always knew there was more than That for me. I joined the military, traveled the world, started a family and now I can enjoy the thing I've done all my life!!
This band has been an adventure. We've created something interesting with with just an extra little bit of sauce that really sets us apart. Mike and Raf are my brothers for life!! And can't wait to see what life has has in store!
MIKE "BIGMAC" MCGRADY
BASS/VOCALS
Growing up, my Mom always had music playing and was very involved in our church choir. She turned down the chance at a record deal for gospel label to raise me as a divorced single mother. She always supported my musically journey. She bought me my first bass when I was around 12 or 13 years old. I taught myself to play and tried to form a band in high school with my buddies, but it never did anything. Music has been my therapy since I was born. Metal got me through a lot. I'm a former Senior Systems Administrator for several IT companies and currently I'm a cemetery property steward, but grave digger sounds so much cooler.
Jeremy, Raf, and I have created a sound that is unique enough that we stand out in a lineup, but still able to sound like it's supposed to be there. This is my first band and I'm astounded by what we've been fortunate to accomplish and the places we've been able to perform. I'm stoked to see what's to come!

DRUMS
When I lived in Honduras and was 11 or 12 years old, I was really into Futbol and Baseball, but then I noticed that girls didn't care for Sports and they were into music.
I got into Pop music and learned how to dance so I could get with the girls. Then, my cousin from the USA came to visit and brought me the KISS, DESTROYER album and I was blown away, quickly absorbed into Rock n Roll. Living in a Third World Country was limiting, but , after moving to the USA and discovering Metal, finally bought a drum set at 21 years old I've been playing ever since, from Heavy to Thrash to Death Metal.
Embering Effigy falls into the category of Thrash Metal, but, Jeremy and Mike are very open minded so I'm able incorporate drumming from different styles that will best serve the songs. That varied pallet keeps what we're doing interesting. You'll never know where we're going next.
