About

Ema Talam is Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Staffordshire University and PhD researcher in Economics at Staffordshire University interested in firm-level productivity, innovation and exporting, and public policy evaluation. The title of Ema's PhD research project is "Evaluating the potential of public policy to jointly promote firms' exporting and innovation". Ema completed her Master's degree in Economics at University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). She received the Preseren Award of the Faculty of Economics of University of Ljubljana for her Master's thesis, and the Award for academic achievement for outstanding academic achievement during her Master's degree.

2011 - 2014: Bachelor's degree at the School of Economics and Business, University of Sarajevo

2018: Presern award of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana for Master's thesis "The link between ethnic tensions and unemployment in multiethnic countries: The case of Bosnia and Herzegovina"

2016: Award for outstanding graduate academic achievement of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana

2014: The Golden Badge of the University of Sarajevo (for the best student of the School of Economics and Business of University of Sarajevo in the generation 2011-2014)

2012, 2013, 2014: Dean's list - Award for accomplished extraordinary academic results in academic 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014

Professional experience

Ema has previously worked in management consultancies, on projects both in public- and private-sector. Additionally, Ema has experience of working in higher education institutions.
