C.A. Glaspie
Commander
Commander Glaspie was born in Henderson, Texas; however, Galveston, Texas, was the place where he grew up. After graduating from Central High School on May 31, 1961, he enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) on June 18, 1961. After serving for twenty-six years, Commander Glaspie retired and specialized in Administration and Personnel.
Commander Glaspie is married to the former Rosetta Wilson of Gadsden, Alabama and they have four children: Charles A., Jr., Bridgette, Herman, and Trina. They have four grandchildren: Chantel, Taylor, Sonya, and Janay.
Commander Glaspie earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Administration from Vernon Regional Junior College and an Associate in Applied science Degree in Resource Management Technology from the United States Airforce Community College. He also attended the University of Texas at Arlington and majored in Business Administration and Management.
Commander Glaspie was the former Grand Secretary of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas from 1987-1995. During his tenure, he held a plethora of positions and served on various committees both within the local lodges and Grand Lodge. Along the way, Commander Glaspie received several awards and letters of recognition for the services of his country and communities. He worked diligently with the National Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Voter registration Drives; City-Wide Usher Board; Sickle Cell Anemia Projects; Project Head Start; United Way Campaign Fund Campaigns; Osan Korea Orphan home; and, a host of many other organizations.
He is a member of Beth-Eden Missionary Baptist Church. He currently serves as Parliamentarian of the Usher Board; Commander of the Approved Workmen are not Ashamed (AWANA) Youth Ministry and serves as a volunteer with the food bank.
Commander Glaspie joined Emanuel L. Young Post 838 in 2005, and within three months he was elected and the Post Historian and received the Texas Historian American Legion Award at the Texas States Convention. In 2018-2019, Commander Glaspie served as First Vice-Commander to Past Commander James D. Chess III.
