Enrique Macias

Hey there! I am Enrique Macias (or just Quique). I am an astrophysicist, currently working as staff astronomer at the ALMA Regional Centre in the European Southern Observatory (ESO) headquarters in Garching (Germany).

My main research interest is the evolution and structure of protoplanetary disks, with the ultimate goal of understanding how planetary systems like our own are formed. I base most of my work on observations of the (sub-)mm thermal emission of dust particles in the disk. In order to study this emission I use radio-interferometric observatories such as the Very Large Array (VLA) in New Mexico (USA), and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile.
