Really beautiful shot in an intimate space. Lots of zooms, but a good amount of wider shots too with a very limited (almost nonexistent) amount of heads. The lighting in this theater really liked my camera and I know the show almost “by heart” so I think I followed the action as well as possible. My battery died during the last song, but it starts at the very beginning with only one drop out during dialogue.

Production did include both 'Maybe This Time' and one of the many money songs, but both were cut from transmission (presumably to decrease the running time). It should also be noted that, while this production opened in December 1993, we are 98% sure that it wasn't filmed until some point between January and March 1994. The quality is great for something that is over twenty years old, and unlike some of the versions of this going around it doesn't skip / run back and repeat 'Mein Herr' about a third of the way through. It's really good to be able to see Alan Cumming in the role for the first time, too.

If someone tries to trade you a VOB file please be aware that it will have been converted from an online version - most likely MP4's. There is no original VOB version.

Alan is absolutely phenominal! It's as if he was made for the role.

Javier is fantastic in the lead role; he's very different from Lin—a bit darker, more intense, and less care-free, but just as passionate. The understudies are great as well, but Andrew is the stand-out; his nuanced performance as Philip is heartbreaking. An absolutely stellar tour cast with fantastic performances all around. Some great nuanced interpretations of the characters make the show fresh. This capture is nearly perfect with just one dropout toward the end of My Shot that lasts less than a minute. Beautiful HD video of the new Broadway cast of Hamilton! There are a few drop-outs and obstructions here and there in Act One but overall it's worked around. Act One is mostly close-ups and starts at Laurens' rap. Act Two picks up in the middle of "What Did I Miss?" and features both close-ups and wider shots. I did move during intermission so Act Two has almost no obstructions, but honestly I don't even care. This performance - this cast - deserved to be captured on video. The colors pick up gorgeously, my favorite parts of the staging are captured just right, and I even rested my camera on my backpack to help steady it when I was overcome with emotion and shaking. Just wow.

Very nice capture of Marc as Burr and Jimmie as Washington. Some head obstruction at the very bottom of the screen in wideshots, but it never takes away. This cast is absolutely Incredible together, Miguel continues to shine as the best hamilton we've ever had, While Marc plays off him and the rest of the cast insanely well. Decent 4k capture of the touring production.  Some very rough filming at times, with some blind-wideshots and a few blackouts due to usher activity, but also has some really gorgeous close-ups.  Struggles with washout at times, some minor obstruction from heads particularly on either extreme side of the stage, and has some major obstruction from a head during Act 2.  Filming is much more settled during Act 2.  Has some nice covers on.  Jared’s, Bella’s, and Devin’s final show with the company.

As said, I've gotten rusty :smh:  Occasionally the angle is tilted 45 degree, some obstruction at the beginning because I was struggling to find a good position to hold the camera, other than that it's mostly fine. I might be wrong about some cast details because parsing cast info has never been my strong suit, and they didn't provide any cast slips. Also this is completely inconsequential but it's cute that this cast of the 3 sisters looks like they could actually be sisters. And smol George Washington.

A near perfect capture and the first known DVD of this shows Off-Broadway run. Barrett is incredibly talented: amazing vocals, acting and comedic timing. Dan and Charissa are both fantastic in their roles as well. The show is absolutely hysterical, much improved from the movie version. The first minute of Act One is blacked out, but the show is otherwise fully intact with no blackouts and only slight washout in a few wide shots. There is no obstruction, the video is steady, the sound is excellent, and its captured very well with the usual mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. Its filmed in 16:9 and includes curtain call, encore, and playbill scans.

Notes: A fantastic capture. This was filmed in the stalls and is a rather painful theatre to film in due to the poor rake on all levels. Incredible performances all around, but the stand out is an absolutely electric performance by Cynthia. She gives a Tony-worthy performance, and there is a standing ovation for her after Im Here as well as at the end of the show. A nice capture overall. There is a one minute blackout during Huckleberry Pie and a two minute blackout during Our Prayer; the rest of the show is fully captured with just a couple quick dropouts. There is one head that occasionally blocks the front left section of the stage, but its worked around whenever possible. Its filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. A perfect capture of the current first national tour with some understudies. Emmy is a phenomenal Elphaba with great acting choices and amazing riffs. Very interesting to see a Fiyero mid-show switch; Kyle jumps in to act two seamlessly. One of my best captures with no blackouts, no washout, no obstruction, and very steady filming. This is shot slightly wider than usual, particularly when the ensemble is on stage, so you can see a lot more of the action. There are still close-ups when necessary. As usual, it’s filmed in 16:9, and the sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.
