El Sobrante Jiu Jitsu is a proud affiliate of the Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy and Lakeridge Judo Club.
Cesar Gracie is one of the first to bring his family’s craft to northern California and has been teaching students for over 30 years. In that time he has produced champions in Mixed Martial Arts as well as champions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions. In addition to his success, he has also built a safe haven for individuals through his academy. Students dealing with trauma, depression, and insecurity have had their lives transformed through training and with the relationships they have built with the other students and instructors.
My name is Daniel Oishi, a purple belt under Cesar Gracie at his Pleasant Hill academy. I will conduct classes at Lakeridge Athletic Club for those interested in learning Gracie (Brazilian) Jiu Jitsu. My mission at El Sobrante Jiu Jitsu is to introduce new students to the art, teaching them basic techniques and fundamentals. Create a fun, safe, healthy environment, where students can grow stronger physically and mentally. And have more students be a part of our Jiu Jitsu family, as El Sobrante Jiu Jitsu students are welcome to train at our affiliate schools in Pleasant Hill and Brentwood two classes a month.
The program at this phase is geared more toward people who are beginners or trying out Jiu Jitsu for the first time. For those more advanced (purple belt or higher), please visit our affiliate school in Pleasant Hill or Brentwood. El Sobrante Jiu Jitsu will offer more advanced training as our class grows. We hope to see you on the mat soon!
Thank you,
Daniel Oishi
