MBBCh candidate and R.C. in Europe
Alexandria university
I am currently an MBBCh candidate at Alexandria University, one of Egypt’s most prestigious medical institutions, where I am pursuing my passion for medicine with a particular focus on general and cardiothoracic surgery. My academic journey has been driven by a deep interest in the molecular biology of heart diseases, inspired by the groundbreaking work of Sir Magdi Yacoub, who serves as my role model. My career aspirations are centered on advancing surgical techniques and contributing to the understanding of cardiovascular diseases at the molecular level.
Academic Background and Journey
My academic journey began with a strong foundation in the basic sciences, which laid the groundwork for my interest in the intricate mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a keen interest in cardiothoracic surgery and the molecular pathways underlying heart diseases, such as cardiomyopathies, congenital heart defects, and ischemic heart disease. This interest led me to engage in extensive research, where I explored topics such as genetic markers of heart disease, molecular pathways in cardiac remodeling, and innovative surgical techniques.
I have actively contributed to the medical research community for more than three years of experience, with 12 published research papers in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on topics ranging from molecular cardiology to surgical innovations. My work has garnered significant recognition, with an h-index of 4 and over 100 citations, reflecting the impact of my contributions to the field. Additionally, I have presented my research at numerous national and international conferences, where I have had the opportunity to engage with leading experts in cardiothoracic surgery and molecular biology.
I am currently also a research consultant at the OMEDICS company in Spain. My role is to make sure that the research papers are high-quality work, in addition to being consulted regarding the best practices in scientific research. I hope to advance medical research and medical education in Europe with this position.
