Research
My current research focuses on Predictive Analytics in biomedical applications, particularly diabetes and the different objectives of the research are shown in detail below:
Predictive Analytics for Diabetes Detection and Classification
According to the statistical study conducted by International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Diabetes Atlas Committee, about half a billion people in the world have diabetes and the number is set to increase from 25% to 51% respectively in 2030 and 2045. Research shows that certain physiological parameters can be related to the onset of diabetes in a person and its effect and co-morbidity in a person. In this research work, I am working on the following objectives:
To find out physiological parameters that can better predict the onset of diabetes.
Development of appropriate machine learning and deep learning models for prediction and classification of diabetes, also incorporating new feature selection techniques.
Reducing the computational complexity of current prediction methods.
Development of a system for diabetes prediction that can be used in rural areas.
Development of a non invasive device for continuous monitoring of blood glucose levels.
