Co-Director of Environmental Leadership Program
We want to express our deepest appreciation for the mentorship, scholarly wisdom, and years of teaching expertise that Katie brought to the Wild Wanderers. During our Winter term, Katie offered us immense knowledge and guidance on how to be effective and inspiring teachers. She led by example and cultivated a classroom environment that valued our voices and encouraged participation and collaboration. During Spring term, she trusted us to jump into teaching. We were given the opportunity to learn through practice, guided by a foundation of knowledge instilled by Katie.
Project Manager
We want to express our gratitude for the support and leadership Shellsea brought to our team. She facilitated important group discussions, offered thoughtful and constructive feedback, and supported key logistics that make our project successful. It was wonderful to learn from Shellsea as we thought about our future plans in the environmental field.
Community Partners
We are so grateful to have worked with Sara Loveless at 90 by 30, an organization with goals of reducing childhood abuse and neglect by 90% by 2030 in Lane County. We are proud to be contributing to the work of 90by30 by helping students build meaningful and safe relationships with nature, peers, and adults.
We were very lucky to have worked closely with Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, especially staff members Sara Spoden and August Jackson. We appreciate them for the ecological expertise they shared with our team. Wild Wanderers would not be possible without the continued care and work the staff put into caring for Mt. Pisgah Arboretum.
4J Partners
We would like to thank Adams Elementary, Cesar E. Chavez Elementary and Oakridge Elementary for welcoming us into their classrooms and allowing their students to come out and explore with us. This would not have been possible without the amazing 4J educators, administration and bus drivers who helped get students to Mt. Pisgah safely!
