2018 University of Chicago & MBL Microeco “From Corals to Coast”. Seed money founding preliminary data generation on Gracilaria microbiome ($54 600). 

2016 - CSP 2017. Protecting photosynthesis during desiccation: do the genomes of desert-derived and aquatic Scenedesmus species hold the key to understanding extreme desiccation tolerance among green algae? Collaboration with JGI (DOE US) to generate annotation genomes of four species of green algae. Role PI. Duration >4 years 

2010-2012 Fulbright Foundation and Spanish Ministry of Education Postdoctoral Fellowship. Full salary plus benefits, 24 months, approx.  approx. $45 000/year.
