Film is an art form about which everyone has their own conceptions and opinions. The power of film is enormous. Its imagery of right and wrong, good or bad, gender roles, relationships, happiness etc. define the thinking of children and how they begin to tell their own stories. A wide variety of films, narratives and imagery give children, youth and even adults the possibility to explore different ways to be good, become happy and live wisely.

Film education occupies its own space in the field of media education and many film educators work actively as media educators as well. However, we have noticed that too often teachers, youth workers, museum staff, libraries etc. have difficulties in perceiving the wide range of possibiliites film could to bring to their activities. On this website, our main goal is to create a comprehensive listing of film education providers, materials, events and trainings that serve specifically those interested in film education.
