The Maroon Machine was founded in 1980 when the Elmore County Big Blue, a combinatination of Elmore County High School and Wetumpka High School, split up to become their own seperate band programs. Since then The Maroon Machine has won multiple awards and is known across the state for their unique and highly entertaining shows. The Maroon Machine has been invited for multiple years to perform in the Mystics of Time Mardi Gras Parade in Mobile, Alabama, the original home of Mardi Gras. The band could not be as successful as they are with out the student's hard work and the bands leadership.
