The Friends of the Elma Ross Public Library need

YOUR Support!


The Friends of the Elma Ross Public Library is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that helps support library collections and outreach programs at the Elma Ross Public Library. All contributions to the Friends of the Library are tax deductible.

Friends of the Library are citizens who value the service of public libraries and volunteer to help them.

Friends of the Library serve as "connecting links" between the library and the community. they encourage use of the library collections and services.

Friends of the Library sponsor occasional meetings (4 times a year) featuring guest speakers and audio visual programs.

Friends of the Library raise funds to assist the library in collections and programming. Fundraising events include the yearly membership drive and book sales.

Your Friends of the Library membership helps the library with the following: purchase subscriptions to the McNaughton Book Service (a book leasing company. We "lease" copies of current bestsellers and return them when they no longer circulate.); purchase a portion of the Large Print Collection; purchase a portion of the Audio Collection; assists in defraying the costs of the Summer Reading Programs, assists in defraying the costs of the Gingerbread House Family Night and other programs throughout the year.

Current Membership Levels include: Student - $1.00; Individual - $5.00; Family - $10.00, Patron - $25.00, Benefactor - $50.00, Sponsor - $100.00, Grantor - $500.00 and Life - $1000.00. Any amount that you donate is greatly appreciated. Please become a member of the Friends of the Library today. Upcoming Friends Events

Friends Night Tuesday, May 17, 2022, 7pm


Join us as we welcome Linda Aslin as our guest speaker on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 7:00pm. at the Elma Ross Public Library Meeting Room. Linda has written a book titled "From the Pit to the Gate." We look forward to hearing Linda's presentation. The books will be available for purchase. Membership Applications for the Friends of the Library will also be available this evening. Light refreshments will be served.


Haywood County Reading Railroad

The Haywood County Reading Railroad, the locally named Chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, provides free books to all children who reside here in Haywood County. Applications are available at the library. We encourage all parents with children under the age of five to sign up for this FREE program.
