Founded by two teenagers, the project offers free listening and consulting sessions, giving a voice to children and adolescents who face suppression of self-expression.
In Morocco, research and reports on child welfare indicate that an estimated 87% of children and former children have experienced abuse, mistreatment or exploitation, while only about 40% - 41% of these cases have been reported. Many children face emotional suppression, limited access to qualified staff, and a lack of information on mental health or sexual education, leaving them without guidance or support.
In response, two Gen Z Moroccans have created a volunteer-led initiative offering free listening and consulting sessions for young people and workshops to guide young women and mothers who were abused or simply lost in life, with no one to help them reach stability. While the nonprofit is still in its early stages, the project provides a safe space for children, teens and young women to voice their concerns, seek guidance, explore their thoughts, and express themselves without judgment.
The founders hope to raise public awareness of the challenges facing Moroccan youth, highlight the need for trained professionals and accessible support services, and inspire community involvement
ELLMS Foundation is dedicated to empowering individuals by fostering leadership qualities, facilitating learning opportunities, and encouraging mentorship. Our commitment is to support those in need, particularly neglected children who often face significant challenges. Based in Morocco, our foundation primarily concentrates on creating a nurturing environment where these vulnerable children and women can thrive and be guided to stability. We offer programs that address their educational, emotional, and social needs, so they get the guidance and support they need to build a brighter future. We work with local communities to make a lasting impact on the lives of these people and help them reach their full potential.
ELLMS stands for “We Empower people to Lead, Learn, Mentor and Support those in need.”
We also introduce kids and teens with limited access to STEM and the arts to new opportunities and creative outlets to support young people facing mental health struggles, abuse, or similar challenges, especially those who feel they have no one to talk to or are afraid to ask for help. We are here to create a safe space where they can openly express the parts of themselves they are afraid to reveal.
