The Greene Carnival is a relaxing 3D puzzle game where the player treks through an inexplicable forest while uncovering the remains of a decrepit carnival. As they journey through the forest they will be faced with various puzzles and experiences which both challenge the player and give a hint as to the carnival's existence.
The Greene Carnival was made within two weeks with a team of 6. This required a substantial amount of focus and organization to stay on the tight project timeline. For the first couple of days I focused on ideation with my team ensuring what we thought of as a group was scoped so that we could complete it. Immediately after I began work on pre-production, I created the project and started file management and task tracking through Google Sheets. We met roughly three times a week for task tracking and general meetings which I structured and lead. My team was incredibly responsive which allowed us to progress efficiently through prototyping and into implantation within a week.
My work outside of creative director for this project entailed programming and level design. I reviewed the basics of C# that I had learned from Dynamo and created all our scripts for this game. Additionally I focused on design as we had 5 mini games to create and implement into the game. While there were other designers assisting me with concept and ideation, the implementation fell mostly on me as I was also coding. Thankfully my team was incredibly supportive and responsive so our game was completed within the two week time frame. I am proud of this project for what it taught me and for the invaluable leadership skills it gave me.
