Manikos is a text-based, choose-your-own-adventure game made on twine and heavily inspired by Lovecraftian themes.
For this game, I focused on constructing the narrative and writing. But before that my co-creator, Sam Crossland, and I planned the setting on Figma and started research into what Lovecraftian entities we wanted to take inspiration from and use within the game. This was my first experience of creative writing for a game and quickly realized just how many iterations and drafts I would have to make. I decided to build out the room descriptions first before approaching the chores.
