I co-pitched the game to 8 of my previous teammates and immediately began pre-production, which lasted two weeks. I created a timeline for each department, organized department leads, structured a task manager on Google Sheets, and developed a search system to locate different tasks assigned to team members. Additionally, I led our weekly check-ins and communicated design and programming needs to the art department and vice versa, ensuring there was no miscommunication.
As one of two programmers, I dedicated significant time to the intricate details of the project. My responsibilities included creating animations for all HUD and popup screens, importing models, setting up environments, creating the navmesh for AI, configuring UI screens, and coding managers and SFX files. A major challenge was achieving our goal of having eight enemies. I was responsible for ensuring they spawned and operated smoothly on each level, which turned out to be a more substantial task than anticipated.
