Dynamo is a 2D platformer parkour game where you must help Anala navigate a magical cave and reach the end before her time runs out. As you progress so does Anala's fuse, she will get faster but the perils she faces will get harder. Will you be able to help her survive? Or will she succumb to the dangers opposing her and meet a bombastic end?
As this was my first project with a team I approached it intending to create a well-polished simple game by the end of the time frame of 3 months. As Creative Director I had a lot to focus on, I first began by organizing a structure of tasks on a calendar, setting dates and weekly goals for my team to aim for. This I used and updated as the game progressed accordingly but it helped keep my team on board and within scope. Next, I began to work on building a workable build as a code lead and designer. From then on it was a matter of adapting to challenges that arose and completing tasks while maintaining team integrity. Thankfully we had talented artists and fellow designers who were as passionate as I was about completing this game.
I marked this as a big stepping stone in my journey through games as it taught me so many invaluable lessons that I hope to take forward, but most importantly it taught me the importance of production and team communication.
