Guitar Lessons

Hello and welcome! I provide lessons for the classical and acoustic guitar, the electric bass guitar, the ukulele, and beginner piano. Instruction occurs in my large East Cobb home studio. Your lessons are customized to align with personal music goals, playing styles, and genres; I also offer music theory, music composition, and standard notation/tablature instruction. My sheet music and instructional materials collection is comprehensive, ranging from beginner to very advanced selections. The studio is equipped with guitar amplifiers and audio recording equipment. Studio Policies

Pay by the month; no long term contract
Make-up lessons honored

Annual schedule & Lesson Days/Times

Fall (August - December): Monday - Thursday, 1pm - 8pm
Spring (January - May): Monday - Thursday, 1pm - 8pm
Summer lessons available (June - July): Wednesday - Thursday, 1pm - 8pm
Federal Holidays observed, with lesson make-ups available

Fees - one lesson per week / four lessons per month

60 minutes - $140/month
45 minutes - $105/month
Initial $15 beginners Guitar method book (if required)

Services

Guitar restringing: $10 owner provides strings
Clean: $10 - oil fret board; polish frets & guitar
Truss rod adjustments, install guitar strap buttons

About me...

I am grateful to my parents who supported eight years of classical guitar education during my formative years growing up in England. Moving to America at age 16, I then played bass guitar in rock and jazz bands. I enjoyed a worldwide 24-year U.S. Army career, followed by a 2019 retirement from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Ellington Guitar Studio opened in 2020 and currently has guitar, ukulele and piano students from ages 6 to 60. I play guitar at local venues whenever possible, and am available to entertain house parties, weddings, and group events. My lovely wife Sue and I have four grown children who reside in the U.S. and Europe.
