At the English Language Learning Institute, we believe that teacher development should be practical, reflective, and grounded in the realities of language education in Japan and Asia. Our seminars and workshops are designed to help educators strengthen both their teaching knowledge and classroom practice through interactive and meaningful professional learning opportunities.
We regularly offer workshops on a variety of themes related to English language teaching, communication, classroom practice, and teacher growth. Sessions are conducted by experienced educators and practitioners who understand the local teaching context while connecting it to global TESOL perspectives.

Reflective Teaching and Teacher Development
These sessions are designed to go beyond “tips and tricks” by exploring both practical classroom applications and the educational principles behind them.
In addition to formal workshops, ELLI also hosts the Language Teachers’ Café, an informal professional learning and networking space for educators. These sessions provide opportunities for teachers to:
exchange ideas and experiences,
discuss classroom challenges,
share teaching practices,
and build supportive professional connections.
The Language Teachers’ Café combines professional development with community building in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Our workshops go beyond “how-to” teaching tips. We aim to explore the why behind classroom practices and help teachers adapt ideas meaningfully to their own contexts. Participants are encouraged to reflect, collaborate, and leave with practical strategies they can immediately apply in their classrooms.
Workshops may be conducted online or face-to-face and often include:
interactive discussions,
model activities,
classroom demonstrations,
reflection tasks,
and downloadable teaching resources.
Certificates of participation may also be provided for selected workshops.
Please check this page regularly for upcoming seminars, schedules, and registration announcements.
