My current work includes the economics of school choice, including the role of school admissions criteria on school and neighbourhood segregation, and parents' preferences for school effectiveness.  Also, the longer-term consequences of attending different schools types, defined by academic standards and diversity.  

Previous work at the Institute for Fiscal Studies includes determinants of children’s outcomes, for example nutrition, month of birth and parents’ marital status.
