With one day left in my campaign, I want to seize this opportunity and inform you directly about the issues close to my heart. In this brief news update you will tell you how I am fighting for Lincoln every day and why I am the best candidate to fight for our great state for another term!
For too long the government has limited the people and their freedoms. The government has no place regulating how your life should be lived. In the Declaration of Independence, in which we declared independence from a tyrannical government that limited the freedom of its people, it states that Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness are three unalienable rights. How can we guarantee these rights if everyday we pass new laws limiting our freedoms and the freedoms of corporations? We can't, it's plain simple. We can't. That's why I'm running on the basis of liberty and deregulation.
I recently visited our brave troops and trainees at the Great Lakes Training Center for the Navy in North Chicago. Their sacrifice to our nation is a great one, and I thank them for that. The military is a necessity to our nation, but not in the way you think. The military doesn't need to go out fight wars on the behalf of other nation's. We need to have an America First, isolationist policy. America is our top priority, not another nation. We can reinvest some of the excess money that we spend on the military on lowering taxes and other things at home/
As I mentioned earlier, I think that government overreach is a plague and the only cure is limiting the government. To start, we need to let states decide on more issues than before. The federal government doesn't know what's best for the entire nation. A congressperson from Dixie doesn't know the solutions to a problem in Lincoln. Secondly, we need to follow up on the first step and start repealing unnecessary restrictions on the federal level. With less restrictions, people can live their life with more freedom and choice. Freedom and choice means happiness and productivity, and happiness is key to stable country. Lastly, we need to combat our high spending. The government has kept digging a hole in debt for years, and this is unacceptable. We need to limit government spending to ensure that we have money to come for future generations.
