Ella Waldron-Norén is an aspiring scientist living in Charleston, S.C. who communicates her passions for the natural world through her art. Throughout her seven years at the School of the Arts, she has built a strong foundation of artistic knowledge and an even greater sense of family within her visual arts class. She’s been able to experiment with many themes and mediums of interest, enabling her to discover her true thematic passions. Her focus now centers primarily around misunderstood creatures, mainly nocturnal animals that secretly live their lives after our world falls asleep. Fleeting moments in nature, such as the finality of day that becomes night, are the main driving forces behind her art. She portrays the dramatics of dusk and light, blending mediums ranging from oil pastels and paints to chalk and charcoal. She looks forward to attending the College of Charleston for marine science and studio art where she plans to combine her love for both nature and art. Ella aims to educate others about animals and the natural world through her craft.
