Hello! My name is Ella Vyhlidal. I am from Omaha, Nebraska and I am an aspiring Interior Designer. This portfolio reflects my growth as an artist through out my years in high school. In my earlier years, I experimented with different mediums such as oil pastels and colored pencils. However, in my senior year, most of my art was done with graphite and the occasional micron pen in the form of portraits. My pieces are very simple and realistic. I chose to focus on graphite portraits because I can get all of the tiny details that make a portrait truly unique. I do portraits because everyone is beautiful in their own ways and I wanted to be able to capture that beauty in my work. As for the purpose behind my art, I created simple pieces in order for my audience to throw their own imagination into the piece. Every person and image as their own story, so the combination of my work and the audiences background creates something similar to a conversation. Art brings me joy because it does not have to necessarily be uniform. Art is whatever you want it to be and I find that to be the most wonderful aspect of it.
