Mohamed E. El-Khouly, born in Egypt, received his PhD in chemistry from Tohoku University, Japan (2002). He pursued postdoctoral research in Japan (Chiba University, 2003-2004; Tohoku University, 2004-2008) before becoming a specially appointed Associate Professor at Osaka University (2008-2012). From 2012 to 2020, he was a full professor at Kafrelshikh University. Since 2018, he has been a full professor in the Nanoscience Program at the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on carbon nanostructure-based molecular and supramolecular systems for solar energy conversion, materials science, water treatment, photodynamic light therapy, and laser chemistry. He has published 180 international peer-reviewed articles, with 8000 citations and an h-index of 47 (Scopus 2024).
