Feel free to email me to set up an appointment time. If you have some quick questions, our school district's Student Tech Hub website is in your bookmarks and linked here
. There's A TON of information and video tutorials about Canvas there.
Navigating the Course: You can navigate the course by using the tabs on the left side of the screen. Each of the notes sections have been labeled as pages, so to view all of the notes for this course at once, click Pages. Check your grades (if you are taking this course to earn the certificate) by using the Grades tab. My suggestion is that you use the Modules tab to work through the course. it is intentionally designed to be completed in order, but I have opened all of the modules since it is entirely self-paced. Start with Module 1 and work your way down. If the last module does not apply to you, skip it.
Grading & Due Dates: If your teacher has assigned this course to you, you must complete each of the graded assignments with proficiency (80% average) in order to earn the certificate and digital badge. This is an asynchronous course, and there are no due dates; however, your individual teacher may choose to give you a due date. Upon completion of each module, the librarian will "grade" and provide feedback for you to continue working. I will grade your submissions within two days in order for you to continue working through the modules at your own pace.
Once you've completed the modules, and I have graded and given feedback, I will email you with a notice of completion, the certificate, and the digital badge; I will also copy your teachers. If your work needs revision, I will email you with specific instructions, feedback, and options for help.
Participation & Etiquette: You won't receive participation grades; however, you must participate in the discussions, which will be graded according to the attached rubrics. When participating, please remember to be appropriate and respectful of the others who have taken or will take this course and will be exposed to your writing. Anyone not following the school's code of conduct or being negative will be removed from the course and referred to the principal for further disciplinary action.
