A director is responsible for the creative visions of a production. Directors oversee all aspects from pre-production to post-production, including selecting cast members, conducting rehearsals, guiding actors during filming/recording, and working with the crew to ensure the final product aligns with their artistic vision.

My responsibilities as director include:

• Interpreting the script: Analyzing the script to develop an understanding of the story, characters, and what is going on between them. 

• Casting actors: Selecting the most suitable actors for each role to fit their vision. 

• Pre-production planning: Creating storyboards with storyboard artists, shot lists, and production schedules with the crew. 

• Directing rehearsals: Working with actors to refine their performances during rehearsal times. 

• On-set leadership: Overseeing the filming process, giving directions to actors and crew members on set, and making sure things run as smoothly as possible on-set. 

• Collaborating with departments: Working closely with the director of photography, production designer, and other department heads. 

• Post-production involvement: Working with the editor to assemble the final film, including selecting takes and making creative decisions regarding the edit.
