What Is Directional Drilling
What Is Directional Drilling
Directional drilling, specifically Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), is a modern technique for placing underground pipes, conduits and cables without the need for extensive digging. This method is employed for various systems such as water lines, sewer pipes, hydro (electricity), fiber optics, gas and oil pipelines. Instead of the conventional approach of trenching and excavation, HDD is a trenchless technology that minimizes disruption to the surrounding landscape and is available to use in areas where excavating is not an option.
