Project Description:
Nab the Flags is an exciting arcade game where players compete to collect as many flags as possible on a large map filled with dangers and challenges. The main objective is to capture flags while avoiding skeleton NPCs that try to attack the player. Key Rules: * Main Objective: Collect as many flags as possible, which spawn randomly across the game world. * Flag Spawning: Flags spawn in various locations on the map, creating a dynamic gameplay experience. * Lives: The player has 3 lives. If a skeleton attacks the player, the player loses one life. Losing all 3 lives results in game over. * Skeleton NPCs: Skeletons attack the player by throwing bones. For every 2 flags collected, another skeleton spawns on the map, up to a maximum of 50 skeletons. * Flag Limit: There can be a maximum of 3 flags on the map at any given time. Once a flag is collected, a new one spawns in a different area of the map. Visual Design: * The design of the game doesn't need to be overly precise; different assets can be used to create the game environment. * The focus is on gameplay and the dynamic nature of the game world.
Game Overview:
A randomly generated maze is produced, where the player has to reach the exit while an enemy AI has to catch the player before the player exits. There should be at least one random power up generated per maze. Either player or AI should be able to pick up a powerup, and there should be 3 types of powerups: one which freezes the other, one that gives a temporary speed boost to whomever picks it up, and one that has a 50% chance of freezing either the AI or player for a couple seconds. If the player reaches an exit, add 1 to the player score. If the AI catches the player, remove one life from the player. There should be 3 lives, and make a game over sign for when the player loses all 3 lives, along with their score and high score. The mazes should be randomly generated as well. The AI may be slightly faster than the player to allow it to catch the player. Also include a start screen for when the game is first opened. Include 2 sound effects for when the player wins or loses. The sound effects can be anything basic.
