Coweta OK Thunderbolt 1000T

Various pictures of the 1000T I bought.

5/6 chopper.

This was my project siren back in 2022. It consisted a friend and I restoring this siren. To start with, I stumbled across this siren one day, and decided I would like to take it on as a project.

I contacted the chief of the Coweta Fire Department and ended up getting a public auction set up.

I won the auction at $70 (cheap price for a siren!) and had to remove it myself as soon as possible.

I waited until the ground was dry, and rented a 70ft man lift for $300. We want out on the driest Wednesday there was to remove it. Removal consisted of us welding up a custom pulley system to hoist it down. It was a 3-man job, and we ended up taking down the siren in pieces to reduce the weight. There were 3 people pulling on a rope (myself included), which is why we had to take it down in pieces. The horn alone was over 100 lbs.!

After removal, I spent the next 2 months completely disassembling, repairing and painting it. I got to run it up on reduced power a couple of times. It sounded very cool.

The siren has been sold since then to a collector from Tennessee, and it is now being used in a fully functional state.
