Unlike Scarlett Johansson, Mia Threapleton did take to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the premiere of The Phoenician Scheme, and it seems she brought a little of that green magic with her to the New York premiere.
There’s clearly a colour connection going on here, but while her Cannes look leaned heavily into embellishment, this Elie Saab Fall 2025 strapless green gown dialled things back—and the result was all the better for it.
This was a quieter kind of statement, but no less stunning. The pared-back details let the colour and silhouette shine, with the added bonus of a lined skirt—something I know many of you will appreciate. And even though I’m not totally anti-sheer, this choice made the look feel more refined.
Styled with a Boucheron necklace, and pulled-back hairstyle, the look felt grown-up in all the right ways. Glamorous, yes, but not trying too hard. Elevated minimalism done the modern way. That balance—youthful but elegant, contemporary but classic—is harder to strike than people think.
And if green really is her colour, then she’s making a very convincing case to stick with it.
