My research resides in the field of paleomagnetism, measuring and interpreting the magnetic record in rocks that were acquired millions to billions of years ago. In particular, my specialty is applying paleomagnetic techniques to extraterrestrial materials (meteorites and returned samples from robotic space missions) to explore the forces and environments that shaped the early solar system and the inital stages of planetary evolution.
Below, you can see past and current projects that I am interested in and actively working on. The topics cover a wide range of subjects and employ a variety of techniques, but all fall into the theme of determining how we can interpret ancient magnetic records to learn about the history of our pocket of the universe.
I love sharing my work with others and developing new ideas. If you would like to invite me to talk at your institution or conference, or would like to collaborate, contact me at em2041@cam.ac.uk
