Making imagery or telling visual stories has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After graduating from my hometown High School in Menasha , I started College at Madison and enrolled in some fine arts classes where I re-discovered a passion for art. I took a few years off from the UW Colleges to investigate other avenues in life....but returned to painting again when I found myself working at an Art Counter in my mid 20's (2001). My mother had recently passed away and I needed a way to cope, painting became a strategy to see myself out of my grief. I returned back to my hometown and decided to make a serious commitment to creating art. I was living with my father and brother when I re-enrolled in school withdrawing in my senior semester at UW Oshkosh, when tragically my father passed away after battling cancer for several years. (2009) Unfortunately, I wasn't able to return to school. Painting continued to remain a daily practice that allowed me to find peace in the unexpected and also gave me a voice when I couldn't speak. I enjoy the process, the challenge and the other artists I have met along the way. I continued to create and sell paintings through commissions, art shows, and staying involved in our local Arts programs.
