This is our Elgin Community Choir. We are a non-audition community choir for singers of all backgrounds. We sing a variety of styles All singers are welcomed in the choir and we have open enrollment all year long. Despite Elgin in the title, the choir is open to all singers in Bastrop and Travis County. This is an adult choir for singers ages 17+ (singers who are younger will need a letter from a parent or guardian to attend unaccompanied). We sing at least two major concerts a year with many smaller performances throughout. Our home base is the First United Methodist Church of Elgin Texas, where we meet every sunday at 4:00pm.

This is the inaugural year for the Elgin Children's Choir. It is open to any child in Bastrop or Travis counties from ages 7 - 16 (children who are younger or older than the age range will be admitted on a case by case basis). We sing a variety of music that is in line with the music TEKS (Texas Education Knowledge and Standards) your child would have in their music programs at school.

Dr. Tyler Hughes is the current director of the Elgin Community Choir. He has served this post as of August of 2019 following the founder of the choir Mr. Thomas William. Dr. Hughes received his Doctorate in Musical Arts and Masters in Music from Texas Tech University and his Bachelors in Music Stephen F. Austin State University. He is an accomplished composers and choir director. In addition to his duties with ECC, Dr. Hughes also directs the Decker Middle School Choirs and the First United Methodist Church Choir of Elgin.
