They are using their different movement qualities (ballet and contemporary) to illustrate the interactions between fungi and bacteria, two very different organisms that form a mutually beneficial relationship in the soil.
2025 Scaling Pro-environmental Behaviours
Neoclassical choreography for 5 dancers
Music by Peter Wilson: Prelude I, from Three Preludes
Choreographed for The SciBallet Project
This work draws inspiration from Dr Matthew Clark's research while he was a research associate in Dr Morena Mills' Catalyzing Conservation group at the Centre for Environmental Policy. It explores how changes in human behavior and collaboration can lead to more positive climate outcomes.
2025 Counting Carbon and Smog
Neoclassical choreography for 5 dancers
Music by Alastar Phelan: Atmospheric Tinderbox
Choreographed for The SciBallet Project
This work is inspired by the research of physicist and climate scientist Dr Robin Lamboll. It illustrates how variations in the levels of CO2 and small pollutants contribute to atmospheric warming. Dancers represent these particles, with the speed of their movements reflecting the temperature of the atmosphere. The performance explores two scenarios: one depicting uncontrolled global heating and the other showing the effects of reduced emissions. Eleonora and Robin collaborated closely with the composer to create a completely original production.
