Julie Smith is a Chemical Engineer by training (BSChE), and has a Master’s Degree in Computer Based Education. She is credentialled in California to teach Physical Science. She has taught students as young as nine years old, all the way to teaching teachers how to teach Chemistry. Schools she has taught in include an inner-city, ethnically diverse Los Angeles middle school, a School of Engineering, as well as in high schools, both public and private, and at a local community college. She also certified nationally, with the “National Board for Professional Teaching Standards”, in Early Adolescent Mathematics (2003 – 2013). She presents frequently at state, local, national and international conferences, teaching other teachers how to teach better – especially in the sciences. She is the author of “The Adolescent Award Brain – Positive Classroom Management for the Most Challenging Classrooms” (©2017, Evenstone Publishing, available on Amazon.com). She is passionate about making Chemistry and Science learning fun, interesting and accessible to all, no matter what age!
