Introduction
A major component in television newscasts is the video featured. Each second of video you see on a newscast was shot by a professional videographer or Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) out in the field and edited for broadcast.
In this series of projects, you will assume the role of a television news videographer in the field and go through the Electronic News Gathering (ENG) process.

At the conclusion of the lesson, students will:
- Be able to tell the difference between a VO, SOT, SOT/VO, and Package.
- Be able to identify specific elements within the news stories.
- Have gained experience in using ENG production equipment in the field.
- Have produced high quality projects acceptable for use in a professional television newscast.
