The tasks that were completed was that we finished developing our prototype; we just need to attach it to the bikes we are using.

Steps moving forward is that we need to attach the prototype to a bike to start our testing when we come back.

The tasks that were completed today was that we emailed Mr B about the print and when we should have it completed by.

Some of the steps moving forward is that if the print is available by Monday, we should make sure that the prints fit together with the battery without breaking along with the connections between each battery holder piece.

The tasks that were completed today was that the batteries were arranged into the proper circuitry. We also developed a shopping and part list for the last parts that we need for our project. Additionally with that, we tried to 3D print our battery holder part with the resin printer but we had complications. Daniel also brought in his electrical kit from home so that we can further improve the arduino for the project.

Some steps moving forward is that we need to find printers that work along with ordering our parts to finish the connection between each battery. Additoinally, some other steps would be to consider using the original battery container if we are not able to find a working 3D printer in time. Furthermore, we would need to finish the development of the circuit for the motor.

Some problems that we encountered today was that the resin printer was not working properly; it displayed an error code that seems to be related to the LCD; this sets us back a couple of days on our battery holder since most of the 3D printers at work are not working properly.

The tasks that Jordan completed today was assist in updating the website. Along with this, he helped Daniel connect the batteries together and the wire connection to the battery to further improve the project.

He used the resin printer along with the Chitubox program to get the print working; the print was not able to work because there was a problem with the LCD. Additionally, he worked on developing a new parts list for the remaining materials that we need.

Additionally, he updated the research part of the website by including the patents and the resarch articles that correlate to our project topic.

A rough draft of code written to turn the motor on and off was made. The motor runs with the current code under five volts. This code was tested. Additionally, we created a new version of the battery holder that Stephen designed. We started to 3D print it but it did not print properly.

The code will be used for the motor, and the motor will soon be fit onto a bike wheel with the means of driving it and producing movement. Some steps moving forward can be using the other 3D printer in the CIM Lab or asking Mr. Gallo to use his printer. Furthermore, we should start purchasing the battery attachment points for the batteries.

Some problems that we encountered today was that the 3D print was not printing properly causing us to stall; weren't able to use the other printer because it was being used.

The task that Jordan completed today was working with Daniel to create and test a "safety button" as seen below. This safety button allows one to use the functions of a button but, as the name suggests, safely. Additionally, he updated the website with Stephen.

The task that Stephen completed today was working on creating a new part file for the battery holder; he used the same design as last time but recreated it himself. Additionally, he started the print for the new battery holder but it failed; wasn't printing properly. Additionally, he updated the website with Jordan.

The task that Daniel completed today was that he wrote and tested the code that turned the motor on and off. However, it only initially worked on the motor he had at home and not the drill motor. He made the "safety" button for this.

Today we worked on arranging the batteries in series and testing them in the arrangement on the motor. As expected, the more batteries ran in series the greater the power of the motor. The amount of power being output by the motor could be heard.

Printing the CAD models so that the batteries can be properly arranged will be necessary for the project. Twelve total will need to be printed.

Since the testing is very rough and not completely properly set-up, results are completely exact, but still do give a helpful rough estimate.

The tasks that Jordan completed during this day was that he help assist Daniel when connecting the motor to the batteries in order to see whether the motor will spin a gear connected to a VEX motor.

The tasks that Stephen completed during this day was that he filmed and took pictures of both Daniel and Jordan working on the battery. Additionally, he worked on updating the website from this week and last week.

The tasks that Daniel completed during this day was that he was testing out with Jordan on whether they could get the motor to spin a gear that was attached to a VEX motor.

The CAD model of the battery holder was adjusted to fit the battery without breaking. We were also able to measure the amperage of our batteries to be approximately 1250 milliamps. Additionally, today we created a gantt chart in order to pace ourselves for the remaining time we have for our build section.

Some steps moving forward is that we have to reprint the battery holders so that they can properly hold the battery without breaking. Additionally we need to adjust the battery holder so that the connection pieces can fit together with other battery holders. Additionally, we need to buy more lithium batteries because the nickel cadmium batteries were not compatible to the lithium ion batteries that we have. Additionally, we would have to buy the metallic nickle pieces to connect each battery in series.

Some problems we encountered today was that our batteries did not fit in the battery holder so we had to adjust it a bit in inventor. Additionally, the attachment pieces for the battery holder was not fitting in place with another battery holder; they couldn't be connected side to side; Daniel suggested we change the settings of how the print goes to high detail to get a better print overall.

The task that Jordan completed today was attend the meeting with Mr. Perez to inform him of our updates on the project. Jordan was working with Stephen to work on the Gantt chart to better pace ourselves in the upcoming weeks.

Using the CAD files our instructor, Mr. Peréz, found, we were able to 3D print a part that would allow us to arrange the batteries in the necessary way. Additionally, we took apart the battery that came with the drill to get access to the batteries. They are. however, not the same as the lithium batteries that we intend to use for the project.

After adjusting the CAD of the battery holder to allow the batteries to fit, we will print 2 per battery, and 12 in total. Use of the batteries removed from the drill, however, is questionable.

The part may be too small, and may need slight adjustment to ensure the battery can fit properly. On top of that, the batteries in the drill were not compatible with the ones we already had, as they were a different size and are nickel cadmium batteries; the ones we are currently using are lithium ion batteries.

The task that Stephen completed for this day was take pictures of the extra battery that would might use. Additionally, he brought in the extra battery to school and left it with the parts for the project.

Today we were able to do testing with the motor from our drill using one of the batteries we had purchased. Wires from the drill were cut and stripped, and then connected to wires on a breadboard. The positive and negative end were pressed against each end of a battery, and the motor was started. Additionally, we acquired a 3D printing file to arrange our batteries.

Tests of the motor can hopefully soon be put into use with respect to movement of a bike wheel. Further testing will provide more information and reliable use of the motor. With the new file, we can print pieces that will allow us to arrange our batteries in the most effective way. More batteries will need to be purchased, however. We will need twelve in total.

We currently don't have enough batteries, which can be fixed fairly easily. Other than that we were not really met with any problems today.

The task that Jordan completed today was strip wires that we are going to use for the breadboard. Additionally, he was removing parts of the drill to get to the motor. Worked with Daniel to test whether there was an electrical connection from the battery and the drill using the breadboard.

The task that Stephen completed today was bringing in the drill that we are going to use as our motor. Additionally, he was working on updating the website and taking pictures.

The task that Daniel completed today was acquire the file for the battery holder; opened it in Inventor to look at the CAD. Worked with Jordan to test whether there was an electrical connection from the battery and the drill using the breadboard.

The drill was disassembled to expose the internal parts of the drill. We got to the motor within the drill; going to use the motor in the drill as our motor for the project.

The necessary pieces of the disassembled drill will be brought to class for use within our project. The drill can be used with the battery to ultimately power the electric bike wheel.

Disassembly of the drill was somewhat difficult, but mostly un-problematic. Additionally, we may need to lubricate the gears in the drill.

The spot welds were completely removed, and, as a result, the batteries can be removed and rearranged as necessary. Additionally, they can still be fit into the plastic piece that held them together initially.

With the spot welds removed, the batteries can be rearranged into the necessary circuitry for the electric bike. The batteries are no longer arranged how they were and can be used as needed and most effectively.

The spot welding had punctured two of the batteries at either their positive or negative end. As a result, upon removing the weld, an area in which battery acid could leak was made. This may result in depletion in battery life.

This shows the bikes being brought from Kmart to the school. Additionally, half of the spot welded metallic pieces that were attached to the batteries were removed.

Steps moving forward is the mounting and attaching the motor from the drill and batteries that we took apart. Furthermore, we have to remove the other half of welded pieces from the battery in order to reach each cell.

The only problem that we encountered was that Stephen forgot to bring the drill for the motor.

The task that was completed was attaining the drill that we are going to use to move the front wheel of the bike.

The steps moving forward is that we need to take the drill to school in order to advance our project.

What was completed was the purchasing of the project bikes to conduct future test on.

Moving forward once we get all the bikes to school we can start prepping them as samples during our testing phase as well as test out motor connection.

The only problem was bring all the bikes to school as there are 5 bikes and they do not all fit in the truck.

With the stronger soldering iron, we were able to fully remove the electronics board. With the board out of the way, we had access to the batteries, which were ready to be removed.

The batteries have been removed, but we will need them all separated for use in project. In order to do that. the spot welds will need to be removed.

The electronics board is no longer functional, which shouldn't be an issue, but was not intended.

We began to solder the board using a stronger soldering iron. With a little more soldering, it will be ready to be removed.

With the electronics board removed, we will be able to access the batteries and prepare them for use within our project.

The screws from the battery cover were removed. We also began to solder the electronics board.

With the insides of the battery clear, further steps can be taken for the use of the battery itself.

The soldering iron currently in use may not be strong enough to undo soldering on the board.

Drill bits purchased prior were returned because a cheaper alternative was purchased.

We will use the drill bits to remove the cover from our batteries in order for us to eventually use them.

In an attempt to save money, a drill press was used to modify the screw holes holding the battery cover in place.

The cover will need to be removed. Once it is removed the batteries within the press can be better utilized with respect to our project.
