Trusted. Transparent. Committed to You.
Claude Young is a proud 26-year resident of Layton, Utah, with a lifelong record of public service and civic involvement. A retired United States Air Force Vietnam veteran and long-serving employee of Hill Air Force Base, Claude brings unmatched leadership, integrity, and dedication to the residents of Layton.
A devoted father of two sons who both live locally, Claude is deeply invested in the future of our city. With no business ties to local developers or special interests, his only priority is the well-being of Layton’s families and neighborhoods.
Claude has been actively attending Layton City Council meetings and work sessions to stay informed, engaged, and ready to lead from day one. He believes that effective public service begins with listening and learning — and he’s already doing both.
Now, as a candidate for Layton City Council, Claude is committed to resident-first leadership rooted in transparency, accountability, and common sense. He believes that city government should reflect the values and priorities of its people — not operate behind closed doors.
✅ Be the People’s Voice — Always
Claude will listen first, act with integrity, and remain accountable. He understands that elected officials are not rulers — they are representatives of the people.

Hold open monthly meetings off-site — so residents can meet, ask questions, and share ideas in a relaxed, accessible setting.
✅ Stay Engaged with Community Groups
Actively collaborate with city committees and neighborhood groups to stay informed and responsive to residents’ needs.
✅ Protect Water Resources
Ensure sustainable, reliable access to water for families, neighborhoods, and businesses — today and for generations to come.
✅ Tackle Homelessness Responsibly
Address homelessness with both compassion and accountability, promoting real solutions that preserve public safety and community values.
Claude Young is ready to serve with honor, to lead with honesty, and to bring real accessibility and transparency back to Layton City government.
