Privacy Policy – ELEC FIELD – Field Tasks
Effective date: August 22, 2026
ELEC FIELD – Field Tasks (“ELEC FIELD”, “the app”) is an offline field-work application designed to assist technicians and field professionals with structured tasks such as surveys, inspections, quality-control checks, maintenance activities, technical measurements, photographic documentation, GPS-based field data collection, and report generation.
ELEC FIELD is developed by Charbel Maalouf, Independent Developer.
This Privacy Policy explains what information ELEC FIELD accesses, how that information is used and stored, and the choices available to users.
1. Offline-First Operation
ELEC FIELD is designed to operate locally on the user's Android device.
The app does not require a user account and does not require an Internet connection for its core functions.
ELEC FIELD does not contain advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, or third-party advertising SDKs.
The app does not automatically upload field projects, photographs, GPS coordinates, reports, measurements, or other project information to the developer or to an ELEC FIELD server.
2. Information Entered by the User
Users may voluntarily enter information while performing field work, including:
project, job, client, company, site, or asset information;
technician or contact names;
technical observations and notes;
measurements and calculations;
inspection or quality-control responses;
equipment and asset identifiers;
survey point and connection information;
recommendations and findings;
photographs;
signatures, when a procedure uses the signature feature; and
other information required by the selected field procedure.
This information is used only to perform the field task and create the records, exports, and reports requested by the user.
The information is stored locally on the device unless the user explicitly chooses to export or share it.
3. Location Information
ELEC FIELD may request access to the device's approximate and precise location.
Location access is used only for field-work functions initiated by the user, such as:
capturing the GPS location of a project or site;
recording the position of a survey point, pole, asset, or technical control point;
recording the reported GPS accuracy and capture time;
calculating geographic distance and bearing between recorded survey points;
opening a saved location in an external mapping application; and
requesting navigation to a saved field location.
ELEC FIELD does not continuously monitor the user's location.
The app does not request background location access.
Location acquisition occurs when the user initiates a feature that requires location information.
Recorded coordinates and related location information are stored locally as part of the relevant project or field task.
External map applications
When the user chooses a function such as Open on Map, Navigate, or a similar map action, ELEC FIELD may send the selected coordinates to an external mapping application installed on the device.
The external application is separate from ELEC FIELD and is governed by its own privacy policy and data-handling practices.
ELEC FIELD does not control how an external map application processes information provided to it.
4. Camera and Photographs
ELEC FIELD may request access to the device camera.
Camera access is used only when the user chooses to take a photograph as part of a field task, survey point, technical finding, evidence record, or other documentation function.
Photographs captured through ELEC FIELD are stored locally as part of the relevant project or field task.
ELEC FIELD does not automatically upload photographs to the developer or to an ELEC FIELD server.
Users may also choose an existing image from their device where the application provides that option.
5. Reports and Data Exports
ELEC FIELD can generate and export information in formats such as:
PDF reports;
CSV data files;
KML geographic data files; and
ELEC FIELD project backup files.
These files remain under the user's control.
They leave ELEC FIELD only when the user deliberately selects an export, save, open, or share action.
When the user shares an exported file through another application or service, such as email, messaging, cloud storage, office software, or a mapping application, that third-party application or service may process the information according to its own privacy policy.
ELEC FIELD is not responsible for the privacy practices of applications or services selected by the user for sharing or opening exported information.
6. Data Collection by the Developer
ELEC FIELD does not automatically transmit project information to the developer.
The developer does not automatically receive:
GPS locations;
photographs;
field-task answers;
measurements;
findings;
reports;
survey data;
signatures;
client information; or
project information.
If a user voluntarily contacts the developer for technical support or custom application services and chooses to provide files, screenshots, project information, or other material, that information is provided directly by the user for the purpose of handling that request.
7. Advertising, Analytics and Tracking
ELEC FIELD does not contain advertising.
ELEC FIELD does not use advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising.
ELEC FIELD does not use analytics services to track users across applications or websites.
ELEC FIELD does not sell user data.
8. Local Data Storage
Field-task data is primarily stored in the app's private storage on the Android device.
This may include:
projects and field tasks;
technical procedure responses;
survey points and connections;
GPS coordinates;
photographs;
findings;
measurements;
calculations;
generated reports; and
other locally created records.
Android system backup for ELEC FIELD application data is disabled by the application.
Users are responsible for creating and securely storing any ELEC FIELD backup or export files they wish to retain.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
ELEC FIELD keeps locally stored project information until the user deletes it or the application data is removed.
Users can remove information by using available delete functions within ELEC FIELD.
Users may also remove all locally stored application data through Android system settings or by uninstalling the application.
Uninstalling ELEC FIELD removes information stored in the app's private application storage according to Android system behavior.
Files previously exported or shared outside ELEC FIELD are not automatically deleted when a project is deleted or the application is uninstalled. Users must delete those external copies from the location or third-party application where they were saved.
ELEC FIELD does not maintain a remote user account requiring a separate account-deletion process.
10. Data Security
ELEC FIELD is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission of field information.
Core project data is stored within Android application-private storage, and the app does not require Internet access for its core operations.
When ELEC FIELD temporarily provides another application access to an exported file, Android secure file-sharing mechanisms and temporary access permissions are used where applicable.
No method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their Android device with appropriate device security and should handle exported project files according to the confidentiality requirements of their employer, client, or organization.
11. Professional and Company Information
ELEC FIELD may be configured with company names, logos, technician information, procedures, acceptance criteria, or other organization-specific information.
Such information is stored and processed as part of the user's local field-work configuration.
Organizations using ELEC FIELD are responsible for ensuring that information entered into the application is collected and handled in accordance with their own legal, contractual, privacy, and professional obligations.
12. Children's Privacy
ELEC FIELD is a professional field-work and technical productivity application and is not designed for children.
The app is intended for technicians, engineers, maintenance personnel, inspectors, contractors, field workers, and other professional users.
The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through ELEC FIELD.
13. Third-Party Applications
ELEC FIELD may allow the user to open or share information using applications installed on the device, including mapping applications, PDF viewers, spreadsheet applications, email applications, messaging applications, file managers, or cloud-storage applications.
Use of those external applications is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.
ELEC FIELD does not control the privacy or security practices of those third parties.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when ELEC FIELD's features, permissions, data practices, or legal requirements change.
The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when material changes are made.
Users are encouraged to review the current Privacy Policy when installing an updated version of the application.
