Human Elements of Digital Citizenship

• Access – Humans are all equally valuable, so equal digital access needs to be the goal.
• Commerce – In commerce, it is easy to forget that "the consumer" is an actual person, particularly in digital commerce. Companies should seek to improve people's lives, not just their bottom line.
• Communication – The person on the other end of a post/message/image/article is a person and deserves to be communicated with as one.
• Etiquette – Respecting others' humanity means respecting their written and unwritten "rules" in how to interact with them.
• Rights and responsibilities – As with being a human, being a person in a digital environment comes with both rights and accompanying responsibilities.
• Health and wellness – Humans have bodies, and those bodies need to be cared for.
• Security - Among the most basic human needs is the need for safety and security.
