The United Professional Ski Patrols of America (UPSPA) represents skilled workers from ski resorts across the West, with membership nearly doubling since 2015. This includes six patrol teams within Colorado—Telluride, Crested Butte, Steamboat Springs, Loveland Pass, Purgatory Resort, and Breckenridge—as well as at Stevens Pass, Big Sky, and Park City. The lift maintenance teams at Park City and Crested Butte are members of the UPSPA as well. Additionally, the Aspen Mountains are organized through an independent union. The UPSPA is local 7781 of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), which represents over 630,000 workers across a variety of industries.
