Ash Wednesday Mass
7p Wednesday, February 14, 2018
Lent begins with the imposition of ashes and the call to fasting, prayer, and study of Scripture. Holy Communion is celebrated to equip us for the time of Lent and as a reminder that Christ is always with us.
Wednesdays in Lent
We will be alternating our midweek Lenten services with St. Michael's (Kensington). We will begin with a meal consisting of soup and perhaps sandwiches. After the meal we will have a more structured time of prayer and growth in discipleship.
Fridays in Lent
Stations of the Cross - Fridays 7p
Candle-lit prayers of the Way of The Cross will be said each Friday throughout Lent.
Christ The King Sunday
Sunday, November 26, 11a
The final Sunday of the Church year our gospel is Jesus’ great parable of judgment. In the end, the faithful are those who served Christ by ministering to those who are poor, hungry, naked, sick, or estranged. In the first reading God is the shepherd who seeks the lost, weak, and injured and feeds them with justice. We gather this day to celebrate the reign of Christ and his victory over death, yet awaiting the consummation of all things yet to come. Acknowledging Christ as our merciful ruler, we go forth that his reign may be known in our loving words and deeds.
